Experience a winter wonderland on our celebrated Christmas in July tour – it’s the perfect place to capture the yuletide spirit.

While cold winds blow, you will be treated to the region’s warm hospitality, Christmas fare and spectacular views of the Blue Mountains.

FRI 05 JULY | LD

This morning the coach will collect tour participants from Central Station, with a second stop at the Sydney domestic airport to collect participants who are flying into Sydney this morning (flights need to arrive by 10 am).

Depart the airport at 10.30am and travel directly to the Blue Mountains.

A highlight today is a visit to The Hydro Majestic, one of Australia’s most iconic historical hotels. Appreciate the grand tradition of the Hydro Majestic High Tea, served in the majestic Wintergarden, which features majestic and panoramic views overlooking the Megalong Valley. Enjoy a High Tea of petit pastries, a selection of finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones served with homemade jam and fresh clotted cream, plus freshly brewed speciality teas and coffees.

After high tea, drive to the quaint Blue Mountains town of Leura. Here you will have the opportunity to browse or shop in the main shopping precinct of Leura.

You may also be interested in visiting the Bygone Beauty’s teapot museum ($5.50 admission / optional activity)

The coach will return late this afternoon and transfer us to echo point. Take the short stroll to the lookout to view the world famous 3 Sisters and the picturesque escarpments of the Jamison Valley. Our accommodation is very close to Echo Point, and our coach will drop us at the hotel, at the conclusion of today’s tour.

SAT 06 JULY | BLD

Breakfast at accommodation

Depart our accommodation at 9.00am and drive to Lithgow and then onto Clarence the starting point for our Zig Zag tourist railway trip.

Zig Zag Railway is a heritage railway, established in 1869. Share a unique adventure and breathtaking views on a relaxing ninety minute ride on this nostalgic steam locomotive as it hauls you over the Great Lithgow Zig Zag. Depart Clarence and travel (zig) to Top Points where there will be a stop for approximately 10 minutes for the locomotive to run around the carriages. The train will then proceed (zag) to Bottom Points where the process will be repeated before returning to Clarence.

After the tour, we travel through the beautiful rainforest and down to the Megalong valley floor to the Dryridge Estate Winery. Opened in 2012 and boasting some of the best views of the Blue Mountains. The Narrow Neck escarpment looms up from the valley floor and in the afternoon the sandstone cliffs are transformed by beautiful bright orange and yellow colours as the sun drops lower over the Great Dividing Range to the west.

Enjoy a grazing platter plus wine tasting experience of seven current vintage wines, served by passionate and knowledgeable staff, with views that will take your breath away.

Return to accommodation late this afternoon, you will have some free time to relax and get ready for tonight’s festive celebration.

The coach departs the hotel early this evening for the short transfer into central Katoomba. At the historic Metropole Guest House we enjoy a Yulefest dinner.

Experience warm mountain hospitality, gas log fires, a traditional Christmas feast with all the trimmings and perhaps even a visit from Santa Claus.

Return transfer to Echo Point Discovery Motel at the conclusion of dinner.

 Depart our accommodation at 8.50am and drive the short distance to Scenicworld

There’s no better way to enjoy the iconic views of the World-Heritage listed UNESCO Blue Mountains, than with Secnicworld’s Unlimited Discovery Pass.
Navigate the site at your own pace. Hop aboard the world’s steepest railway into the Jamison Valley. Explore the valley on raised boardwalks through the rainforest, spotting Lyre Birds and ancient tree ferns amongst other flora and fauna. Ride the Cableway to cruise past the sandstone escarpment and Orphan Rock, and then take in the view of the iconic Three Sisters and the valley below from the Skyway. Alight at Skyway East Station at the Blue Mountains Visitors Centre, where our coach will collect our group and drive to the Wentworth Falls Lookout and Jamison Lookout.

Next stop is at the Conservation Hut Café for a light lunch. Nestled amidst the breathtaking beauty of the Blue Mountains the Conservation Hut Café offers uninterrupted views of the Jamison Valley and Mt Solitary.

Depart the Blue Mountains after lunch, drive to Sydney Domestic airport to drop off any group participants who are flying home on Sunday (flights need to depart after 4.30pm). The coach then continues into Sydney with a second drop off at Sydney Central Train station at approximately 4.15pm / 4.30pm.

Accommodation for two nights is at the Echo Point Discovery Motel (3.5*)
