Day 1  Arrival at Narita Airport / Tokyo

Arrive at Narita Airport, where an individual transfer to your hotel can be arranged at an additional cost. Check-in is available after 3:00pm, allowing you time to rest and prepare for the adventure ahead.

MON 27 OCTOBER  | BD

Day 2  Tokyo

After breakfast, embark on a full-day tour of Tokyo, exploring the city’s cultural and modern highlights:

Asakusa Temple and Nakamise Shopping Street: Visit this iconic Buddhist temple, one of Tokyo’s oldest, and stroll through Nakamise Street, where traditional snacks and souvenirs abound.

Tokyo Sky Tree (350m observation deck): Marvel at breathtaking panoramic views of Tokyo from one of the tallest towers in the world.

Ueno Park: Discover a cultural hub featuring museums, gardens and vibrant autumn foliage.

Ginza: Enjoy the glitz and glamour of this upscale shopping and dining district, famous for its designer stores and fine restaurants.

Return to the hotel in the evening.

TUES 28 OCTOBER |  B

Day 3   Tokyo

Today, experience Tokyo like a local, using a Tokyo Metro Pass with your guide:

Meiji Shrine: A tranquil Shinto shrine surrounded by a beautiful forest, dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken.

Harajuku: Explore this vibrant neighbourhood, known for its quirky fashion, colourful street art, and unique boutiques.

Omotesando: Tokyo’s chic shopping avenue lined with luxury brands and stylish architecture.

Shibuya: Visit the bustling Scramble Crossing, a symbol of Tokyo’s dynamic urban culture.

Shinjuku: Discover a lively area full of entertainment, shopping, and iconic landmarks like the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building.

Return to the hotel in the afternoon.

WED 29 OCTOBER  | BLD

Day 4   Tokyo / Fuji

After breakfast, journey to the scenic Fuji area for an unforgettable day:

Lake Ashi Cruise: Enjoy a serene boat ride on this picturesque crater lake with views of Mount Fuji on clear days.

Owakudani Ropeway: Ride high above sulfuric hot springs and volcanic landscapes, with spectacular views of Mount Fuji and the Hakone region.

Check into your hotel in Hakone. Prepare an overnight bag for two nights, as the main luggage will be forwarded to the Kyoto hotel.

Overnight stay at Hakone Tenseien or a similar property (Japanese and Western rooms).

THU 30 OCTOBER  | BLD

Day 5 Fuji / Shizuoka

After breakfast, immerse yourself in the beauty of Fuji and Shizuoka:

Mt. Fuji Visitor Center: Learn about the history, geology, and cultural significance of Japan’s most iconic mountain.

Fujinomiya Sengen Shrine: A sacred site dedicated to the deity of Mount Fuji, offering a tranquil atmosphere and stunning views.

Tea Plantation: Discover Japan’s renowned tea culture with a guided tour of a lush tea plantation.

Traditional Craft Arts Center: Participate in or observe a traditional Japanese craft-making experience (specific craft TBA).

Check into your hotel in Hamamatsu.

FRI 31 OCTOBER | BD

Day 6 Shizuoka / Kyoto

Travel to Kyoto via the iconic Shinkansen (bullet train). Upon arrival, take part in a Kyoto lantern-making workshop, where you can create your own Japanese-style lantern as a unique keepsake.

SAT 1 NOV| BL

Day 7 Kyoto

Spend the day exploring Kyoto’s traditional beauty:

Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and Togetsukyo Bridge: Walk through the ethereal bamboo forest and admire the scenic bridge over the Katsura River.

Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion): A Zen temple adorned with shimmering gold leaf, surrounded by a reflective pond and lush gardens.

Tea Ceremony: Participate in a serene tea ceremony, learning about Japan’s refined tea culture. This experience features a demonstration of the tea preparation and the chance to make your own matcha.

Return to the hotel in the evening.

Day 8 Kyoto

Explore more of Kyoto using public transportation:

Nijo Castle: A UNESCO World Heritage site featuring historic architecture, including its famed “nightingale floors.”

Heian Shrine: Admire this elegant Shinto shrine with a striking red torii gate and expansive garden.

Enjoy a free afternoon to explore Kyoto at your own pace.

Opportunity to do an optional activity –  Kimono Dressing – Enjoy seeing the sights in Kyoto dressed in a traditional Kimono. (optional activity – additional cost)

Tonight enjoy a special dinner including Geisha show

MON 3 NOV| BL

Day 9 Osaka

Travel to nearby Nara for:

Todaiji Temple: Home to the colossal Great Buddha statue, this UNESCO-listed temple is a marvel of Japanese Buddhism.

Nara Deer Park: Wander among freely roaming deer, considered sacred in Japanese culture.

Afterwards, enjoy a fun sushi-making class. You will be provided with an apron and gloves and make sushi using the same steps as a real sushi chef. Then eat your own sushi for lunch.

Continue travel to Osaka and check in at your hotel for 3 nights stay.

TUES 04 NOV | BD

Day 10 Osaka

Discover Osaka’s vibrant atmosphere:

Osaka Castle: Explore the historic castle, surrounded by impressive stone walls and a beautiful park.

Umeda Sky Building: Admire panoramic city views from the futuristic Floating Garden Observatory.

Aqua Liner Cruise: Relax on a scenic cruise along Osaka’s waterways.

Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori: Experience the lively nightlife, colourful neon lights, and delicious street food.

Day 11 Osaka

Free day to enjoy at your leisure.

Day 12 Osaka / Departure from Kansai International Airport

After breakfast, free at leisure until check out when individual transfer to Osaka airport can be arranged at an additional cost for your departure flight, marking the end of your memorable Japan journey.

NOTES:

  • Subject to change and availability at time of booking.
  • Room types- bedding configuration is 2 x single beds for twin share. If you prefer a double room (1 double or queen bed) this room type is on request as there are very few queen bedded rooms in hotels and twin share is the standard configuration. Bedding configuration for single room depends on each individual hotel, some hotels offer 1 double bed and others offer 1 King single. A Ryokan stay with Futon are all single futons. At the time of booking confirmation, we can request the bedding configuration and if you wish to upgrade to bigger room (subject to availability, with can be arranged with additional surcharge).
  • Costs based on minimum 15 participants should the group size decrease from quoted passenger numbers, then a recost based on decreased group size will be required.
  • Optional tours / activities are additional cost and are subject to availability at timeof booking.
  • ANY mobility OR medical restrictions OR special dietary requirements need to be advised at time of booking. A moderate level of mobility is required to be able participate in local tours / activities – tour participants will need to be able to negotiate stairs, inclines, uneven ground.
